Earnest Money
Who’s Ernest Munny? The new neighbor? Nope. Well, at least we don’t think so. Earnest money is a deposit made by the home buyer to the seller. The deposit assures the seller that the purchase agreement is reliable. Usually, it’s 1–3% of the purchase price, but don’t worry. This deposit will count toward the down payment and/or closing costs.
